Hunua Falls

Well it was nice to go out for my one day off in the week, Sunday, and spend some time taking pictures of this Waterfall. I used my new filters so was able to get the exact effect that I wanted. The Waterfall is 27 metres high (88.6 feet) and during peak flooding and rain the whole top edge is overflowing. It was nice to spend some time out with my great friends too, we always laugh about something, this time it was an Indian man swimming with only his undies on, just a little Disturbing! Still think that they came out not too bad!

The next set of pics are from random moments on my trip, one set is from a gorgeous sunrise that I woke up a friend to enjoy, it was really nice. Another shot is me trying out my Barrel extenders that I got given from my Dad, it allows me to 'throw' the background right out of focus. So I used it to take a picture of the reed in front of a river. Another shot is from a little excursion to the top of a small hill/rock cliff/mountain and my flatmate and myself tried to do some climbing but again it was a bit dangerous so we decided to live to fight (or climb rather) another day as it were!

These Shots are from my week long holiday from the Bustle of the city to a small out of the way place called Opotere. It was a great relaxing place, and when camping it was only 3 mins walk from the beach. Hope you can enjoy the pictures as much as I enjoyed the scenery.

These first couple are the view emerging from the forest to the beach. As you near the beach there was this interesting tree that had grown into an S-shape, I thought it looked a little crazy so I took a pic. while walking down the beach there were some black birds with long thin orange beaks. They are called Oyster Catchers, and there was a little family of them including little fluffy chicks. The parents were taking them for a walk down to the water, very cute. A lot of the time we just spent relaxing on the beach, thus the flip flops or sandals or thongs if your Australian, and the feet with water background.

These next set are from a walk to a place called Cathederal cove, it was beautiful (another common theme) however there were a lot of people there so I decided to not take as many pics if random people got into them. I also did a spot of climbing, or rather boldering, which was a bit dangerous but I didn't go too high, got a bit spooked.

These Next couple of Pics are actually from New Years eve on top of a Hill. Where my friends and I watched while the sky tower lit up with fireworks, it was so windy I had to hold the Tripod steady and use my friends as a human wind sheild. They helped heaps I actually didn't think that the pics would come out as well as they did!!

All those pics and a few stories to go with them :)

Well I just finished selecting the pics that I would post so here they are, all from my short but awesome holiday break, I'll try to explain them or at least fill in the picture as it were! (excuse the pun)

The First set of pictures are from the weekend I took further south with my Family, over the Cristmas weekend. They are taken in a City called Napier, which is very beautiful.

One morning I really wanted to get up early and take some pics, this will be a common theme as we progress. So my Father and I went out and decided to mix that in with some fishing off some rocks. Needless to say we didnt catch anything but some beautiful pictures and a clear blue morning. But the time spent together was great, I don't really get to see my Dad, or the rest of my family a lot these days but its always nice to just chill out and do whatever with him. I am truely blessed in regards to my family and the amazing support they are to me.
